Beaumont Personal Injury Lawyer

Beaumont, French for “beautiful mountain,” was named in 1887 for its view of San Jacinto Peak. It sits at the summit of the San Gorgonio Pass, where the Southern Pacific opened “Summit Station” in 1875. Beaumont and neighboring Banning have grown quickly since the 1990s, and Beaumont had 53,036 residents in the 2020 Census. About 24% of residents speak Spanish at home, according to American Community Survey estimates.

Tafreshi Law Group serves Beaumont and Cherry Valley from our Riverside office. Reach us by phone or text 24/7. Lea esta página en español.

Where the Freeways Meet

  • Interstate 10 and State Route 60 merge in Beaumont. Drivers coming from Moreno Valley on SR-60 join I-10 traffic coming through Calimesa, all heading east into the pass.
  • State Route 79 (Beaumont Avenue) heads south from I-10 toward Hemet and San Jacinto. The pass summit, about 2,600 feet, is just east of the I-10/SR-79 junction.
  • Highland Springs Avenue marks the line with Banning and carries traffic to new housing tracts.
  • 6th Street is an old section of US 99 through downtown.

New subdivisions, school traffic and trucks headed for the desert all meet here. Our I-10 San Gorgonio Pass guide covers the freeway east of town.
