Indian Wells is a small Coachella Valley city (incorporated in 1967, ZIP 92210) between Palm Desert and La Quinta. It had 4,757 residents in the 2020 Census, but resort hotels, golf clubs, and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden (78-200 Miles Avenue, at Washington Street) — home of the BNP Paribas Open each March — bring far more visitors than residents during peak season. Most of that traffic moves along Highway 111, the city’s main corridor.
Tafreshi Law Group (TLG) helps injured people in Indian Wells from our Riverside office at 4121 Brockton Ave, Ste 101. We do not have a Coachella Valley office; we work by phone, text, and video and meet in person when that helps. Call (951) 583-1900 or text (949) 776-8964, 24/7.
Indian Wells matters almost always come from ZIP 92210, which it shares in part with Palm Desert.
Highway 111, Washington Street, Cook Street and Fred Waring Drive
Highway 111 runs east–west through the middle of Indian Wells, lined with resort entrances, restaurants, and turn pockets. Cook Street marks the west side toward Palm Desert and Washington Street the east side toward La Quinta and Bermuda Dunes. Fred Waring Drive, Miles Avenue, and Eldorado Drive carry neighborhood and event traffic. There is no freeway inside the city; drivers reach I-10 via Exit 134 (Cook Street) or Exit 137 (Washington Street). Common claim patterns include left-turn crashes into resort and club entrances on Highway 111, rear-end crashes in stop-and-go tournament traffic on Washington Street and Miles Avenue, pedestrians crossing to hotels and the Tennis Garden, and cyclists on Highway 111’s shoulders.
Where to Get Care
Where EMS takes you depends on your injuries and location. Common destinations for Indian Wells crashes include Eisenhower Health (39000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage; 24/7 emergency department and Level IV trauma center), Desert Regional Medical Center (1150 N. Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs; the Coachella Valley’s Level I trauma center), and JFK Memorial Hospital (47111 Monroe Street, Indio). Keep the ambulance bill, discharge papers, imaging, and every follow-up bill. Gaps in treatment are something insurers often point to, so follow your doctor’s plan and keep records of missed work.

Tournament Season, Resorts and Visitors
During the BNP Paribas Open in March and the winter visitor season, Washington Street, Miles Avenue, and Highway 111 carry heavy event, shuttle, and rideshare traffic. Many drivers are visitors in rental cars who do not know the area. Injuries at hotels, clubs, and event venues — falls on wet or uneven surfaces, poorly lit walkways, or pool-area injuries — may be premises liability claims against the property owner rather than auto claims. Keep receipts, room or ticket records, photos of the hazard, and the names of staff who took an incident report.

Court and Deadlines
Under the Riverside Superior Court order effective August 1, 2026, unlimited civil cases from ZIP 92210 (Indian Wells) are generally filed at the Palm Springs Courthouse, 3255 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs. The Larson Justice Center (46-200 Oasis Street, Indio) handles criminal and traffic matters in the east valley, so if the other driver is cited or charged (for example, with DUI), that part of the case may be heard in Indio — separately from your injury claim. The usual private-party injury deadline under Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1 is two years from the injury. If a city, the County of Riverside, Caltrans, or another public entity may share fault, a written government claim is often due within six months (Government Code section 911.2). Special rules can shorten or extend these deadlines, so talk to a lawyer early.
Older Drivers, Pedestrians and Cyclists
Indian Wells has one of the oldest median ages in the valley, and many residents walk, bike, or use golf carts. When an older pedestrian or cyclist is hit, injuries are often more serious and recovery takes longer. Medical records, a clear timeline, and an honest picture of how the injury changed daily life matter. We help families gather that information and deal with the insurers.
If a city vehicle or a road or sidewalk defect may be involved, a written government claim is often due within six months.

Indian Wells Injury FAQs
Who investigates crashes in Indian Wells?
On city streets, including Highway 111 through town, usually the Riverside County Sheriff’s Palm Desert Station under the city’s police-services contract. On I-10, usually CHP Indio.
I fell at a resort in Indian Wells. Is that a personal injury claim?
It can be. Property owners must use reasonable care to keep guests safe. Report the fall, photograph the hazard, keep your receipts and medical records, and talk to a lawyer before giving a recorded statement.
Do I have to give the other driver’s insurer a recorded statement?
No. You can give basic claim information, but you do not have to give a recorded statement or accept an early offer before you understand your injuries. Many clients let us handle those calls.
