San Jacinto Personal Injury Lawyer
San Jacinto is older than Riverside County itself. The modern town was laid out at Five Points in 1883, the railroad arrived in 1888, and the city incorporated on April 20 of that year. It grew on dairies, farming and visitors to nearby hot springs. Today it’s a young city: the 2020 Census counted 53,898 residents with a median age of 32.4, and 29.5% were under 18. Close to half of residents, about 45%, speak Spanish at home, according to American Community Survey estimates.
A San Jacinto personal injury lawyer can help you figure out who wrote your report, collect your medical records and handle the insurers. Our Riverside office is about 28 miles away. Lea esta página en español.
A Valley at the End of the Road
San Jacinto sits at the north end of the San Jacinto Valley, with Hemet to the south and the San Jacinto Mountains to the east.
- Mid County Parkway. San Jacinto is the planned eastern end of the 16-mile Mid County Parkway, which would link it to Perris. RCTC’s first piece opened at I-215 and Placentia Avenue in Perris in 2022. Read our Perris page for that end of the corridor.
- San Jacinto Valley Expressway. RCTC, the county and the cities of San Jacinto and Hemet propose a 12-mile, four-lane county expressway, formerly called the SR-79 Realignment. RCTC renamed it in September 2026 and lists construction as dependent on funding.
Until they’re built, today’s roads, including the Ramona Expressway, carry the valley’s traffic.
College, Casino and Weekend Traffic
Mt. San Jacinto College, a community college founded in 1965, is based in San Jacinto, so student drivers and pedestrians are part of daily traffic. The Sheriff provides law enforcement for the college under contract.
Soboba Casino, owned and run by the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians, draws visitors from across the region. The Soboba are a sovereign tribal nation. An injury on tribal land can involve different rules and claim procedures than a crash on a city street, so get advice early. If a drunk driver hit you, see our drunk driver page.
Who Takes the Report
San Jacinto contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office for police and with the county for fire protection.
- San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station: 160 W. 6th Street, San Jacinto, CA 92583. Phone (951) 654-2702. Open weekdays.
- Sheriff non-emergency dispatch: (951) 776-1099. Call 911 in an emergency.
The Sheriff’s Hemet Station, 43950 Acacia Avenue, Suite B, Hemet, (951) 791-3400, covers the surrounding unincorporated areas and the Soboba Tribal Nation.
On state highways and unincorporated roads, the CHP San Gorgonio Pass Area office, 195 Highland Springs Avenue, Beaumont, (951) 846-5300, handles traffic. Its area includes San Jacinto, Hemet and Winchester.
How to get a copy. Request a Sheriff’s report from the station that wrote it, and call first if it has been less than 14 days. Bring photo ID. The Sheriff’s online payment form lists $25 per traffic report plus a transaction fee. CHP reports are $10 for 1 to 25 pages.
Where Injured People Are Treated
- Hemet Global Medical Center, 1117 E. Devonshire Avenue, Hemet, has a 24-hour emergency department.
- RUHS Medical Center, 26520 Cactus Avenue, Moreno Valley, is a Level I trauma center and Level II pediatric trauma center.

San Jacinto Injury FAQs
Does San Jacinto have its own police?
The city calls it the San Jacinto Police Department, but officers are Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies working under contract from the station on 6th Street.
I was hurt at or near Soboba Casino. Does the usual process apply?
Not always. Injuries on tribal land may involve the tribe’s own claim process and deadlines. A crash on a public road nearby usually follows ordinary California rules. Call us early so we can check which applies.
Who handles a crash on the Ramona Expressway?
Inside city limits, usually the Sheriff. On unincorporated stretches, usually the CHP San Gorgonio Pass Area office.
Which courthouse hears San Jacinto cases?
Unlimited civil cases go to the Riverside Historic Courthouse, and limited civil cases go to the Menifee Justice Center.
What does a consultation cost?
Nothing. It’s free, and we answer 24/7.
