Mead Valley Personal Injury Lawyer
Mead Valley is an unincorporated community in the northeastern Temescal Mountains, south of the City of Riverside and west of Perris. It sits about 1,660 feet up in a valley drained by the north fork of Cajalco Creek, and it covers roughly 19 square miles. The Census first counted it as its own place in 2010. By 2020 it had 19,819 residents.
Spanish is the most common home language in Mead Valley. Census estimates for 2023 show that about three in four residents age 5 and older speak Spanish at home. Our team speaks Spanish, so you can tell us what happened in the language you’re most comfortable with. Visit our página en español or our page for accidentes de auto.

Cajalco Road and Getting Around Mead Valley
Cajalco Road is a major east-west route between I-215 and Corona. Riverside County’s Transportation Department plans to widen and realign about 16 miles of Cajalco between Temescal Canyon Road and I-215:
- Six lanes between the I-215 southbound ramps and Harvill Avenue.
- Four lanes between Harvill Avenue and Temescal Canyon Road.
- First contract: Wood Road to Seaton Avenue. The county’s current schedule shows construction starting in July 2031 and finishing in fall 2032.
Until that work is done, the road keeps its current layout. During construction, expect lane shifts and detours. If you’re hit in a work zone, take photos of the signs and cones.
The county held one of its Cajalco community workshops at the Mead Valley Community Center, 21091 Rider Street, with materials in English and Spanish.
Who Takes the Report in Mead Valley
Because Mead Valley is unincorporated, traffic and crime calls go to two different agencies:
- Traffic collisions: the CHP Riverside Area office, 8118 Lincoln Ave, Riverside, CA 92504, (951) 324-7210. The CHP lists Mead Valley among the unincorporated areas it patrols, along with I-215.
- Crimes and other calls: the Riverside County Sheriff’s Perris Station, 137 N. Perris Blvd, Suite A, Perris, CA 92570, (951) 210-1000. The station serves the City of Perris and nearby communities, including Mead Valley.
Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Ask the officer for the report or incident number before you leave.
Getting a CHP report. If you were involved, you (or your attorney) can ask the CHP for a copy through its online crash report request or by filing form CHP 190. Reports of up to 25 pages cost $10.
The Nearest Trauma Centers
- RUHS Medical Center, 26520 Cactus Avenue, Moreno Valley, is a Level I trauma center and Level II pediatric trauma center with a 24/7 emergency department. It says it treats nearly half of all trauma patients in Riverside County.
- Riverside Community Hospital in downtown Riverside (4445 Magnolia Avenue) is a second Level I trauma center option, verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Which Court Hears a Mead Valley Case
Riverside Superior Court assigns civil cases to a courthouse by ZIP code. Mead Valley’s ZIP, 92570, appears in the court’s filing order under Perris. A case seeking more than $35,000 (an unlimited civil case) is filed at the Riverside Historic Courthouse, 4050 Main Street, Riverside. A smaller, limited civil case is filed at the Moreno Valley Courthouse, 13800 Heacock Street, Building D201.
The general deadline to file an injury lawsuit is two years. When a county road or other public property may be partly to blame, a written government claim is usually due within six months. See the statute of limitations for car accidents in California.
Immigration Status and Your Claim
Some families worry that immigration status will come up if they file an injury claim. In California personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, evidence of a person’s immigration status generally can’t be admitted, and the other side generally can’t seek discovery about it (Evidence Code 351.2). We’ll talk through your situation privately at the free consultation.
Your Accident Doesn’t Have to Be Major to Matter
A sideswipe on Cajalco or a fall at a store can still lead to back pain, lost workdays and medical bills. No case is too small to call.

Sí. Our team speaks Spanish. You can call (951) 583-1900 or text (949) 776-8964, 24/7.
Who writes the report after a crash on Cajalco Road?
Usually the CHP Riverside Area office, because the CHP handles traffic on Mead Valley’s unincorporated roads. The Sheriff’s Perris Station handles crimes and other calls.
Is Mead Valley part of Perris?
No. Mead Valley is unincorporated Riverside County, even though its ZIP code, 92570, is shared with Perris. That’s why the CHP, not a city police department, takes traffic reports here.
Which courthouse would hear my case?
For ZIP code 92570, unlimited civil cases go to the Riverside Historic Courthouse, and limited civil cases go to the Moreno Valley Courthouse.
What does it cost to talk to you?
There’s no charge for the consultation, and you can reach us any time, day or night.
