Murrieta Personal Injury Lawyer
Murrieta is named for Juan Murrieta, a Californio rancher who brought 7,000 sheep to the valley in 1873. Before that, it was the Luiseño village of ‘Avaa’ax. The city grew 133.7% between 2000 and 2010, and had 110,949 residents in the 2020 Census. It’s largely a commuter town, and most commutes start on a freeway. About 17% of residents speak Spanish at home, according to American Community Survey estimates.

Two Freeways and a Split
- Interstate 15 runs through the west side of Murrieta, and Interstate 215 runs through the east side. They meet at the I-15/I-215 split near the Temecula line.
- Historic US 395 runs through downtown as Jefferson Avenue, Ivy Street and Washington Avenue.
- State Route 79 (Winchester Road) forms much of the eastern border.
Commuters merging toward the split, trucks on I-15 and stop-and-go traffic all lead to rear-end crashes. See our car accident lawyer in Riverside page.
Getting Your Murrieta Collision Report
Murrieta has had its own police department since 1992. According to the city’s Collision Reports and Records pages:
- Submit a Records Release Request Form at the police station front counter with a copy of valid government ID, or request the report online through LexisNexis.
- Records has up to 10 working days to process a request and will call you when it’s ready.
- Questions: Records Unit, (951) 304-2677.
On I-15 and I-215, the CHP Temecula Area office usually handles the report: 27685 Commerce Center Drive, Temecula, (951) 466-4300. CHP reports cost $10 for 1 to 25 pages.
Hospitals
Murrieta has two hospitals, Loma Linda University Medical Center–Murrieta and Rancho Springs Medical Center. Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital in neighboring Wildomar is a Level II trauma center.
