Rubidoux sits right across the Santa Ana River from downtown Riverside, below Mount Rubidoux. It takes its name from Louis Robidoux, who settled here in 1843 on land of the old Rancho Jurupa. For decades Rubidoux was an unincorporated community of quarries and dairies; since July 1, 2011 it has been a neighborhood of the City of Jurupa Valley (ZIP 92509). More than half of residents speak Spanish at home, and we are glad to handle your case completely in Spanish.

Rubidoux Roads and Crash Patterns
State Route 60 cuts straight through Rubidoux and is its main transportation route, alongside the small single-runway Flabob Airport. In 2022 the City of Jurupa Valley published a Local Roadway Safety Plan using 2016–2020 crash data. It found that fatal and serious-injury crashes clustered on four corridors, and two run through Rubidoux: Rubidoux Boulevard and Mission Boulevard (the others are Limonite Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard). The plan also notes that older parts of the city were built without sidewalks; the city has been adding them near schools. Common crash types on these roads: rear-end and sideswipe crashes at the SR-60 ramps on Rubidoux Boulevard and Valley Way, left-turn crashes on Mission Boulevard, and pedestrians hit while walking along the edge of the road. Walking where there is no sidewalk does not automatically take away your right to a claim — see our guide to pedestrian accident claims in Riverside.
Where to Get Care

What to Do After a Crash in Rubidoux
- 1
Call 911, get medical care, and accept an ambulance if you need one.
- 2
Photograph the vehicles, the road, signs and your injuries.
- 3
Get names, phone numbers and insurance information from drivers and witnesses.
- 4
Write down the nearest cross street or landmark so the right agency’s report can be found.
- 5
Do not give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer before getting advice.
- 6
Keep every bill, receipt and pay stub that shows missed work.
Why Rubidoux Crashes Need Quick Action
Much of Rubidoux’s busiest traffic is commercial: trucks heading to SR-60, contractors and quarry traffic, and delivery vans. Businesses along Mission Boulevard and Rubidoux Boulevard often record over their security video within days or weeks, so we send preservation letters early. If a commercial vehicle was involved, there may be a larger commercial policy and federal or state trucking records to request.
If a pothole, missing sign or broken signal on a city street played a part, the six-month government claim deadline applies to the City of Jurupa Valley.
Court and Deadlines
Under the Riverside County Superior Court civil filing order effective August 1, 2026, injury cases from ZIP 92509 are filed by case size: unlimited civil cases (generally over $35,000) at the Riverside Historic Courthouse (4050 Main Street, Riverside), and limited civil cases at the Corona Courthouse (505 S. Buena Vista, Corona). The usual deadline to sue a private party is two years from the injury (Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1). Claims involving the County of Riverside, the city, Caltrans or another public entity usually require a written government claim within six months (Government Code section 911.2).

Rubidoux Injury FAQs
Do you have an office in Rubidoux?
No. Rubidoux clients work with our Riverside office at 4121 Brockton Ave, Ste 101. Call (951) 583-1900 or text (949) 776-8964 — we can meet by phone or video.
Is Rubidoux part of Riverside or Jurupa Valley?
Jurupa Valley. Many people think of Rubidoux as part of Riverside because it sits right across the river from downtown, but since 2011 it has been part of the City of Jurupa Valley. That matters after a crash: the report comes from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station (or the CHP on SR-60), not the Riverside Police Department, and a claim against the city goes to Jurupa Valley, not Riverside.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Our staff speaks Spanish, and you can read this page in Spanish here. Our office staff also speaks Farsi.
