Stanton Personal Injury Lawyer

Stanton has been a city twice. Residents first incorporated in 1911, partly to stop Anaheim’s plan for a “sewage farm” nearby, and the city was then the largest in Orange County by area. In 1924 they voted to dis-incorporate to avoid the cost of building roads. In May 1956 they incorporated again. The name honors Phillip A. Stanton, a former Speaker of the State Assembly who helped with the first incorporation.

Today Stanton is a compact city of 37,962 people (2020 Census) wedged between Cypress, Anaheim and Garden Grove, with a median age of 37.4. About 42% of residents speak Spanish at home, according to American Community Survey estimates. A Stanton personal injury lawyer can help you get your report from the Sheriff, deal with the insurance companies and track your deadlines. Our Fountain Valley office is less than 8 miles away. Beach Boulevard Runs Through the Middle

Stanton has no freeway inside its limits. Its one state highway, Beach Boulevard (SR-39), runs north-south through the city. The main east-west streets are Lampson, Chapman, Orangewood, Katella and Cerritos Avenues. Beach Boulevard also passes Adventure City, a small amusement park.

A few miles south, we looked at crash records near Beach and Bolsa in Midway City; see our Beach Blvd and Bolsa Ave guide. We haven’t pulled Stanton-specific crash counts, so we don’t quote any here.

Because Beach Boulevard is a state highway, the road may be maintained by Caltrans rather than the city. If a road defect such as a broken signal or a worn crosswalk contributed to your crash, the claim may run against a public agency, and those claims have short deadlines.

Who Takes the Report in Stanton

Stanton disbanded its police and fire departments in 1987 and contracts with county agencies. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department provides police services.

Getting a Sheriff’s report. Call the Sheriff’s Records Unit at (714) 834-6454 to check whether the report is ready; it usually takes 7 to 10 days. Then email the request form to reportrequest@ocsheriff.gov, or submit it in person, by mail or by fax. The fee is 15 cents per page.

If you crashed a block away in Garden Grove, Anaheim or Cypress, that city’s police department may have written the report instead.

Does Stanton have its own police department?

Not since 1987. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department provides police services through Stanton Police Services on Cedar Street.

Who has my report if I crashed on Beach Boulevard?

Inside Stanton, usually the Sheriff. If it happened just across the line in Garden Grove or Anaheim, usually that city’s police.
